2009 D.C. & U.S. Territories Quarters - Colorized

The United States Mint’s 50 State Quarters Program was the most successful coin series in history generating billions of dollars for the Mint and creating over 100 million new coin collectors. The 50 coin series came to an end with the release of the Hawaii coin in 2008.

In 2009 the U.S. Mint created a follow up series known as the District of Columbia and United States Territories Quarter Program. This six coins series honors: the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, U.S. Virgin Islands and the Northern Mariana Islands.
