2007 PRESIDENTIAL DOLLARS FIRST YEAR OF ISSUE SET WITH EDGE LETTERING
Presidential dollars are struck for circulation at the Philadelphia and Denver mints. A special higher quality, limited edition, Proof coin is struck just for collectors by the San Francisco mint.
These complete 12-piece first year of issue sets have a certified high grade MS67 coin from the Philadelphia and Denver Mints and a certified high grade PR69 coin from the San Francisco Mint for each president. The presidents honored in these first year of issue sets are George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison. Each certified coin is sonically sealed in special tamper proof slab holder and comes in a deluxe book style presentation folder measuring 6 ¼ x4 ¼. The presentation folder allows you to examine both the obverse and reverse of each coin.
• These first year of issue sets have special edge lettering. He motto “In God We Trust”, “E Pluribus Unum”, the date 2007 and the mintmark are on the edges of the coins.
• Many people consider this edge lettering to be the first step in removing the word “God” from our coins. Starting in 2009 the motto is returned to the regular position on the coins.
