2019 W $50 BURNISHED GOLD EAGLE SP70 FDI MOY SIGNED

UNDISCOVERED TREASURE – RARE WASHINGTON DC RELEASES

The U.S. Mint has been a prolific issuer of unique or otherwise impressive coins in 2019. Demand for these new releases in the highest certified grades has outstripped supply, leading to premium prices in the secondary market. With so many great new coins released in 2019, other coins have been overlooked by collectors. The cream of the crop is the 2019 $50 Burnished Gold Eagle struck at West Point.

We have secured these coins in perfect SP70 condition by PCGS. They have the coveted First Day of Issue and City Releases labels, identifying the coins were released in Washington D.C. The coins are signed by Edmund C. Moy, the 38th Director of the U.S. Mint and the leader who established the Burnished Gold Eagle program in 2006. Burnished Gold Eagles are produced from specially prepared 22-karat gold blanks that give each coin a distinctive smooth, matte-like surface, as well as razor-sharp details and blazing luster. Burnished coins are issued with a mintmark identifying they were minted at West Point. The U.S. Mint set a production limit of only 10,000 coins, official sales in 2019 have reached only 5,497 coins. Both the 2019 $50 Gold Eagle certified in MS70 and PR70 signed by Ed Moy list in price guides for $3,800 and $3,900. Both of those issues have significantly higher mintages than this burnished treasure.
